Meta has announced the launch of new generative video tools for advertisers on Facebook and Instagram. These tools, introduced in Advantage+ creative, will become available to a wider range of marketers early next year.
In May, Meta unveiled its first generative tools that allow advertisers to resize images, change backgrounds, and repurpose existing images to create multiple versions of ads. Since then, brands have actively been using these capabilities to build their ad campaigns within Meta Ads Manager. Additionally, AI-powered analytics and optimization tools are available in Advantage+ campaigns to enhance performance and efficiency.
One of the key new tools allows advertisers to create more engaging video content for Instagram and Facebook users. The tool generates new pixels in each frame, enabling videos to be resized and made more native for viewing on these platforms. This feature builds upon a similar tool for images, which has gained popularity among advertisers.
This feature allows advertisers to add movement to static images in Instagram Reels, turning them into video content. Thanks to this, advertisers no longer need to upload original video files—videos are generated automatically using generative AI.
Meta is also working on tools to improve brand voice and tone in AI-generated creative, based on feedback from advertisers and agencies. One of the new solutions is the ability to create text creative using voice prompts. In addition, advertisers can upload their brand logo to help AI better understand the brand’s visual identity.
Meta has also introduced a new tool that integrates creator content into ad campaigns. Advertisers can now include creator content in collection ads on Reels and other platforms. These ads will display both the advertiser’s and the creator’s handles, managed through Advantage+ Catalog.
Meta has also created a new “Partnership Ads Hub,” where advertisers can manage creator campaigns, set up partnership ads, and organize other content on a single page.
Meta and its advertisers note that static images perform well in sales stages and are easier to scale using existing generative AI tools. However, video content is more effective at telling brand stories at the top of the funnel.
The new generative video tools allow advertisers to engage in video ads more effectively with minimal additional resources. The Video Expansion tool, in particular, ensures that brand videos appear native, professional, and visually appealing on Meta platforms.
