Christmas Ad Collection 2024

Table of contents

The holiday season is here, and with it comes the annual parade of Christmas advertising campaigns designed to inspire and enhance our festive mood. This year, the integration of artificial intelligence has added a new dimension to the creative process, sparking both curiosity and reflection on its impact.

Think about it: why did you choose to gift your father an elite perfume instead of the usual socks? Perhaps it was the story from a leading brand’s ad that evoked warm memories – moments of joy, closeness, and that last-minute search for the perfect gift.

These ads do more than just promote products; they tell stories that resonate deeply within us, often bringing tears to even the most stoic viewers. This reflects the unparalleled creativity and skill of brands in crafting such memorable tales.

For us marketers, it’s a time to admire the art and strategy that make these campaigns unforgettable. So, without further ado, let’s dive into our selection of the best Christmas campaigns of 2024 and pick our favorites for creativity.

Disney

An incredible story about a boy and his sea friend, an octopus.

Sky Cinema

In this heartwarming advert, a young girl finds inspiration from classic Christmas movies to gather the courage to ask a boy to the cinema. With scenes referencing beloved festive films like Elf, It’s a Wonderful Life, and The Holiday, she becomes emboldened by their romantic charm. With a pair of free Vue Cinema tickets in hand, she finally approaches the boy, quoting lines from her favorite movies, and makes her move in a sweet, Buddy-style moment. This ad celebrates how films create connections and bring magic to the holiday season, part of Sky Cinema’s Movies Make Christmas campaign.

Aldi

Kevin the Carrot is back for the UK and Ireland supermarket chain Aldi, presenting another heroic journey. This time, he is tasked by Santa himself to retrieve the Christmas Spirit, which was stolen by the ‘Humbugs.’

John Lewis & Partners

The reigning champion of Christmas ads, UK retailer John Lewis, taps into a familiar situation many of us face: last-minute gift shopping. The ad takes us on a nostalgic journey as Sally returns to her childhood home, reliving moments of drama and growing up with her sister.

 Coca-Cola

A controversial ad! This year’s campaign from Coca-Cola, the giant of Christmas advertising, reimagines its iconic 1995 “Holidays are Coming” style, but with new elements. It was created using generative AI, which has sparked debates among both creatives and social media users who believe it is inappropriate to use AI instead of the work of artists. Alex Hirsch, creator of the Disney series Gravity Falls, mocked it in a post on X, while Matt Edwards from the BigSmall creative agency pointed out that all the symbols in the campaign are still human creations.

What do you think of this ad?

Amazon

Amazon returns with a new sentimental ad, where an older janitor quietly sings “What The World Needs Now Is Love” by Jackie DeShannon. His coworkers notice him and order him a tuxedo through Amazon, after which he takes the stage, stunning everyone with his amazing voice.

Starbucks

Starbucks captures the chaotic nature of Christmas and blends it with a feeling we can all relate to – grabbing a coffee to take a breather or recharge before continuing.

TK Maxx

This ad from global-local retailer TK Maxx, with the relatable moment of the gift recipient telling the gift giver to “shut up” about the price of the present, will definitely bring a smile to your face.

From the flamboyant singing and dancing to the food on the BBQ, it perfectly captures Australian culture and humor. The ad currently has 3.5 million views on the brand’s YouTube page!

Norwegian Postal Service

The Norwegian Postal Service (Posten) goes all-in on humor with a Netflix-documentary-style ad. Known for its viral and unconventional campaigns, the brand stays true to its style in 2024 with a witty and playful offering.

The ad shows how these very human-like reindeer prepare for the big day, tracing Rudolf’s rise (and fall) to fame and leaving no doubt that Posten is the only reliable service in town.

ARGOS

Connie and her crocodile friend Trev are back this year in festive spirit. Trev is now a rock star, or at least dreams of being one. He wakes up after a dream (and an epic dream) to find Connie already waiting with a wonderful gift. Short and easy to watch, this ad showcases the products of British catalog retailer Argos in an accessible and fun way.

Boots UK #MakeMagic

Boots, the health and beauty retailer and pharmacy chain, shows that it’s not just Santa who brings the magic of Christmas! Mrs. Claus and her team of “elfluencers” take center stage in this creative ad. This modern twist cleverly highlights the gifts and products you can buy for your loved ones—or even treat yourself with—before the big day.

Zalando

Zalando has unveiled its holiday ad that perfectly captures the relatable moment of indecision before choosing an outfit — the iconic “towel stare,” when you sit wrapped in a towel, contemplating endless options.

Sports Direct

The Sports Direct ad encourages creating new traditions, focusing on sports, community, and family moments during the festive season.

Olipop

The Olipop ad introduces viewers to two lovable yetis, Oli and Pop, who struggle to connect with people due to their large and intimidating appearance.

JD Sports

JD Sports redefines the concept of ‘family’ in its documentary-style ad featuring stars like Central Cee, Beta Squad, Paddy the Baddy, Maya Jama, and others.

Tesco

Unwrap festive surprises and experience the magic of the UK’s most anticipated Christmas TV ad by Tesco.

Lidl Ireland

An incredible ad that will make you think about what you truly want.

Asda

In this ad, toys come to life on New Year’s Eve, bringing charm and joy to the holiday season. These little Gnomies will help make this Christmas extra special!

Barbour

Shaun the Sheep and his flock return in Barbour’s 2024 Christmas campaign, celebrating the warmth and joy of gifting signature winter accessories through charming stop-motion animation.

Save the Children organization

M&S

This Christmas ad by M&S Food combines festive magic with a touch of humor as Dawn French meets a mischievous Fairy who brings neighbors together for a surprise celebration. With the help of M&S Food, the chaos turns into a heartwarming holiday moment, showcasing the joy of sharing delicious treats.

Sainsbury

Waitrose

A Waitrose Mystery: A family Christmas takes an unexpected turn in this tale of mystery, intrigue… and pudding. The No.1 Red Velvet Bauble Dessert is so good, it’s gone. Someone’s taken it, but who? They all have good alibis.

IKEA Poland

IKEA Poland’s 2024 holiday campaign, “For the Holidays and Every Day,” celebrates togetherness and home coziness with a heartwarming ad featuring an adorable dachshund. The campaign highlights how IKEA’s products help create lasting holiday magic that can be enjoyed year-round. Alongside the ad, IKEA is hosting a holiday contest where pet owners can share photos of their pets enjoying IKEA furniture for a chance to win prizes.

Bubbles

In a time when the world feels more divided than ever, we all benefit from real human connection. By opening ourselves to those on the other side, we realise that we’re not so different after all. Let’s break the barriers we create in our minds.

Connections Begin When Barriers Break.
