Advertisers can now scale their mobile app campaigns directly within the Threads feed. With the latest Marketing API update, App Ads support is now available globally.

Key features of the update:

  • Available campaign objectives: Advertisers can use the APP_INSTALLS objective (app installs) as well as app event optimization for LINK_CLICKS (link clicks) or CONVERSIONS (conversions).
  • Creative unification: The platform allows the use of existing visual assets—images, videos, and carousels. This eliminates the need to create separate, Threads-specific creatives, significantly reducing the workload for design teams.
  • Placement automation: Integration into the Threads feed enables ads to blend seamlessly into the user experience, increasing engagement levels.

Reply Moderation: Tools for Communication Control

Alongside expanded advertising capabilities, Meta is placing a strong emphasis on brand safety. The new moderation functionality in the Threads Marketing API allows advertisers to fully control user interactions under their ads.

Tool capabilities:

  • Monitoring: View all top-level replies to advertisements.
  • Active management: Ability to hide inappropriate or irrelevant responses.
  • Feedback loop: Ability to reply to comments directly via the API, enabling integration of Threads into broader CRM systems and customer support services.

Technical note on permissions:

To use moderation tools, applications must have the appropriate access rights to the ad account:

  • ads_read — required to view replies.
  • ads_management — required to hide comments and publish replies.
